Whitney Is On The Air TWICE Every Sunday Morning!

Reach Out and Trust, a 30-minute radio program broadcast on 94.1 KBXL-FM Family Christian Radio every Sunday morning at 7:30 AM and again at 11:30 AM, features Rev. Christina Fridel, Mac Mcdaniel and others discussing Whitney's activities -- before, during and after one of Rev. Christian's sermons.

If you care to host a broadcast of Reach Out and Trust, merely make out a check for $50.00 to Whitney UMC and write "radio show" on the memo line.  We appreciate your help in our mission to others to "Reach out and Trust."

The Wednesday Afternon Bible Studies -- open to one and all whether or not you attend Whitney UMC.

Linda Slupe leads this Bible study based on selected study topics and materials from Ginghamsburg Church's Transformation Journal (daily devotions).

Since this is a weekly, not daily study, topics are condensed and not necessarily discussed in Ginghamsburg's original order.

All are encouraged to join this study being held 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the sanctuary of Vernon Richards Hall.

Every Saturday of every month, Whitney United Methodist Church provides free brown bag lunches between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to anyone living within the 83705 zip code.  Different organizations and churches contribute volunteer to this effort including Boy Scout Troop 49, the Whitney United Methodist Men, and Hillview United Methodist Church.

During 2008 Saturday Lunches prepared 4836 sack lunches in response to 738 requests with 174 of them going to first time recipients.

In the past a portion of the cost of this outreach has been funded by grants from The FRED MEYER FOUNDATION and The UNITED WAY.

Peter’s Pantry is an outgrowth of Whitney United Methodist unique Partners In Education relationship with Whitney Elementary School located right across the street.  Those in need of food are able to obtain it (no more than once a month) from the church office between 9:30 a.m. and Noon weekdays.

During 2008 Peter's Pantry served 3,992 recipients (up from 3,276 in 2007) with enough food for 35,928 meals (up from 29,484 in 2007)!

In the past a portion of the funds for this program came from grants from the FRED MEYER FOUNDATION, THE UNITED WAY. The two main sources of food comes from the Idaho FoodBank and El-Ada. Other  sources are those of the parishioners of Whitney as well as other churches such as Amity United Methodist Church.
